Beginning with the 2005-06 school year, the
counselor assigned to your part of the alphabet will provide college advising. Each
counselor expects you to have completed the tasks listed on the College Selection Process
prior to making an appointment in the spring of your junior year. As a junior, follow the
timeline provided on this website to assist you in the college planning and
decision-making process. There is a second timeline for seniors that will take you through
the application process as well as notifying colleges of your final decision.
If you are
applying to a selective college,
you will be required to have a letter of recommendation from your
counselor. You MUST make an appointment with your counselor at
least 4 weeks prior your earliest application deadline. At least 3 days prior to your appointment, give a
completed Parent
Information Sheet, a Personal Data Sheet and your typed high school resume to your
counselor. You may print these forms from the links below or pick them up in the
counseling office. In addition, you should have a Records Release Form signed and turned in to the counseling secretary by
September 15th. Visit the Application Deadlines link to make sure you meet the deadlines for your counselor as
well as the colleges to which you will apply. There are two formats
provided for your use, (PDF, adobe link) and Microsoft Word, doc. You may
use either one.
